John MBK is a Nigerian-American pianist, producer, and creative architect based in Houston, Texas. Raised in a musically rich household, his journey began at age five with a small keyboard and an endless curiosity for sound. Now, with over two decades of experience, John’s artistry blends gospel, highlife, classical, jazz, and hip-hop into a voice that is both technically precise and emotionally raw.

Largely self-taught but shaped by classical training and jazz mentorship, John developed his own language through the piano — composing, arranging, and leading bands with a deep sense of groove and narrative. Whether performing with Houston’s rising artists, directing live sets, or developing his debut EP, he channels each note through a lens of intention and soul.

Beyond the stage, John brings an engineer’s mind to his creative world. With a background in civil engineering and project management, he builds more than music — he designs systems, curates events, and cultivates space for community, collaboration, and cultural growth. His work isn’t just performance — it’s creative infrastructure, rooted in rhythm.
